The former Governor of Enugu state, Mr Chimaroke Nnamani has been cleared of corruption charges by the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos due to no valid charge against the accused by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The former Governor who is to be re-arraign in court had challenged the action stating that has no proper evidence to try him.
It would be recalled that the former Governor of Enugu State had been arraigned earlier for money laundering during his tenure in office as a state governo.
In the ruling, Justice Chuka Obiozor maintained that there is no valid charge against the accused after the agreement of the plea bargain reached by both the accused and the EFCC.
With the proceedings expunged now, EFCC prosecutor had said after the ruling that, fresh prosecution charges might be pressed against the former Governor.
What this, Former Governor Nnamani now joins Joshua Dariye of Plateau, Sullivan Chime of Enugu and Orji Uzor Kalu of Abia, Isa Yaguda of Bauchi as Ex governors who had their corruption charges insignificant.
