Sources at the Nigerian embassy in Washington DC has authoritatively revealed to Ataaoja.com that journalists were selected and the questions to be asked President Buhari were given by the embassy to journalists yesterday.
The joint press conference which was held yesterday at the Rose Garden inside the White House had just two questions for the visiting president amidst several numerous questions to be asked the president. Individual journalists, writers who were present at the venue were not giving the opportunity to question the president.
When asked a member of the embassy staff who pleaded anonymity why things were unfolded in that manner, she said the embassy was following protocol and the directive given.
One of the journalists Ajayi Festus greatly expressed his disappointment with the way the whole press conference has played out. He lamented the fact that journalists were deprived the opportunity to asked Buhari pertinent questions as related the recent happenings in the country.
