While Medical doctors in Africa are complaining of being underpaid, Their counterparts in North American country of Canada have signed a protest letter protesting their own pay rise. The doctors who went further in their display of weirdness also asked for the money to be reallocated to nurses.
The protest letter which was signed by over Seven hundred doctors from the group Médecins Québécois pour le Régime Public (MQRP) reads
"We, Quebec doctors who believe in a strong public system, oppose the recent salary increases negotiated by our medical federation. These increases are all the more shocking because our nurses, clerks and other professionals face very difficult working conditions, while our patients live with the lack of access to required services because of the drastic cuts in recent years and the centralization of power in the Ministry of Health"
General practitioners make about $23,053 per month (About 9 Million Naira) , while specialists were making $39,991 per month (About 13 Million Naira).
We hope one day, Doctors in Africa too can protest being over paid and not under paid like the case has always been.
